There’s a very large dosing range – where some people do well with small dosing, some do well with medium dosing, and others do well with larger dosing regimens.

It is recommended to start with a small dose and then gradually increase until you find the desired effects that you’re looking for.

In a dosage too high for you (different for everyone), drowsiness can occur.

Do I need to eventually increase my dosage?

No!  One of the wonderful things about CBD is once you find your ideal dose, you can stay at this dose without the need to increase!

Here are some common dosing regimens (remember depending on your level of pain and/or anxiety these might not be the right dosing for you)

  •  General Health: 10mg – 20mg a day
  •  Chronic Pain or inflammation: 25mg – 50mg a day
  •  Sleep disorders: 40mg – 160mg

How long does it last?

(remember these are general and it could last longer or less)

  • Edibles/Ingestion: lasts 6-8 hours and has a slow onset (30-60 min)
  • Vape: lasts 1-4 hours and has a fast onset (5-20 min)
  • Oils/Tinctures: lasts 6-8 hours and has a fast onset (20-45 minutes)
  • Topicals: it is not clear how long it lasts (depends on strength) but you can apply liberally.  It is still recommended to start with a small amount so you don’t waste it.

1. Start with a low dose of 10-20mg, a couple times a day.
– Do this for 7 days
– Note your reactions, feelings, mood and appetite.

If you are trying CBD for a specific reason, has there been any noticeable improvement or differences?  If no, move to step 2.

2. Increase the amount by 5-10mg, still at a couple times a day.
– Do this for 7 days.
– Note your reactions, feelings, mood and appetite.

Repeat step 2 until you find the desired effects you are looking for.
